Memory
Series:
My
Canadian
explorer Grandmother
mapped part of Labrador in
1905 (Google:
Mina Benson Hubbard Ellis),
and I use textual fragments
from her pencil written diaries to inform the narrative for my work
which explores notions of identity, memory and loss. Working mainly in
monochrome, my work incorporates graphite and graphite powder providing
a link between the text and texture.
Sea Series:
I have made an attempt to capture the mood of the North Sea.
